Coach Dave has been contacted by, and has agreed to appear on The Geraldo Rivera show on Fox News Saturday night at 10:00 EST.  The producers of the show contacted Coach and invited him on the show to defend his friend John Freshwater in the much publicized events in Mt. Vernon, Ohio.  The producers of the show questioned why it was so hard to find someone who would defend John and Coach Dave jumped at the chance to help clear Mr. Freshwater's name.  The show airs this Saturday, June 21 at 10:00 EST on Fox News.

A well-known street preacher has been convicted of two federal crimes for preaching the gospel on the public sidewalk outside Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia.It was back on October 6 last year when Michael Marcavage, director of Repent America, was arrested by National Park rangers for refusing to leave the public sidewalk outside the Liberty Bell Center. He explains what happened.    On Friday, Marcavage was convicted of two federal offenses, fined $445, and ordered not to return to the National Independence Historic Park for a year without first notifying Park Service officials and obtaining a permit if he planned to engage in any evangelistic activities. Two Cleveland policemen arrested Jason Werner (me) Saturday night at the corner of  West 6th and West St. Clair for preaching the good news of Jesus Christ.  The general manager of Blue Point told me and my friend, Doug Long, that the guests in his restaurant were complaining that they could hear us "yelling and screaming through the windows," and the  police were on their way.
I walked to the general manager while he was standing near the door of his restaurant and argued that it was nearly impossible for any of his guests to hear us through his windows as it appeared they had double pane windows at the very least, and that it was a ridiculous complaint anyway. "Nor is "same sex marriage" legal in California. The citizens in California approved a voter initiative to define marriage as between one man and one woman in 2000. The judiciary lacks the requisite constitutional authority to overturn any statute passed by the voters. Only the voters themselves can reverse a statute they themselves voted in. While the court is free to interpret the constitution of California and issue opinions, they are not authorized to "strike down" any specific statutes. It is vital that you acknowledge that "same sex marriage" is not legal in California either or prove that it is. Neither the people nor their elected representatives voted to amend or suspend the current marriage statute that doesn't allow for "same sex marriage." Until they do, it remains illegal."

It is so easy to look at the FDLS "Polygamy" compound and miss what is really going on.   The media is great at creating guilt to assuage the ire of Christians.  But let's be careful here.  Just like we saw at the Branch Dividing compound where David Koresh's group was burned to death another "cult" has come under the watchful eye of the courts and "Children Protective Services" who regularly seize children from their homes.  What will we do in America when they determine that raising children to oppose homosexuality and abortion is "hate" and an unsafe environment for kids?  Could never happen....huh. Follow the dollars. 

Even though the media is trying to down-play it the truth is there is overwhelming support for John Freshwater and the Christian values that he stands for.  Last night at the meeting of the Mt. Vernon School Board, Fresh H2O supporters flooded the library and created a standing room only situation.  Sadly, two members of the Kenyon College Community Dr. Richard Hoppe and Sam Barone spoke in opposition to Mr Fresh H2O because they are under the false assumption that Christians become second-class citizens when they walk into the classroom. The oppose the idea that God might have created man.

 

The community spoke loud and clear last night.  What the Superintendent, School Board and Kenyon College community need more than anything is a civics lesson.  The separation between the church and state is not part of the U.S Constitution.....no matter how much they quote it.  Click here for full story.  Pass The Salt would be honored to help straighten them out.

Has anyone noted the silence of the NAACP on the racism of Planned Parenthood? Of Imus, Julian Bond, current Chairman of the NAACP said, "It's past time employers take Don Imus off the air." Interim President & CEO Dennis C. Haynes said, "We will now move from Imus to "I Must," because we each must play a part in attacking racial defamation no matter its author." The NAACP, once the vanguard and protector of the Black Community, has become the personification of liberal thinking and has also refused to condemn the racism at Planned Parenthood. This should not surprise anyone since the NAACP censored the Macon chapter in Georgia due to a resolution submitted that had abortion content. They refused to read it to the body, a clear violation of their own by laws. No, there will be no discussion on race here either as long as Planned Parenthood is in the discussion.
