CommentaryTurn on the Lights
I am so sorry if I come across as negative. That really is not my intention. In fact, that is not even what I feel in my heart. I don’t know how to explain it, but I am full of hope and anticipation. I have great expectations of what God is getting ready to do.

Sitting DucksOn the boats and on the planes That used to be a happy thought. We are all here in America because someone got on a boat or a plane and sought out a new life in a new world.

Fight PressureI wish you knew me. I am about as common of a guy as you will ever meet. One of five kids raised by a factory-working father and a stay at home mom we were the text-book Ozzie and Harriet family so common in the sixties. We attended public schools in the days of local control of education, all matriculated to higher education, and were encouraged to start a career, raise a family, and attend church. Let the Games Begin
Well, the Republicans got their butts kicked and I don't know of anyone who is surprised. John McCain was not a conservative no matter how much Republican-radio tried to convince us he was. Come on now, we're talking about a guy who had considered being John Kerry's running mate, had entertained the idea of adopting Al Gore's running mate Joe Lieberman as his own, who led the "gang of twelve" in blocking the filibustering of Supreme Court judges, who stuck his hand "across the aisle" so much he was as flexible as Gumby, and who was ultimately done-in by McCain-Feingold which he wrote in order to get the money out of politics. Somebody forgot to tell President-elect Obama about that election law

Baa, Baa Black SheepAmerica is about to be fleeced. The sheep are being prepared for a shearing. A wolf is at the door and the hirelings have sold out the flock.
Barack Obama could not be elected without the church…especially the black church. The “ministers” in those black congregations are complicit in the destruction of this nation. ( categories: Commentary )
The Congregation of the Dead
The once great “shining city on a hill” is gasping for breath. Everywhere you turn you are faced with the harsh truth that the death rattle has begun. We are a dying people controlled by a dying government, infected with the dead leadership of dead men, who chew on a dead gospel served-up in dead churches, by dead pastors living out a dead faith.

Monopoly Money
A billion minutes ago Jesus was on Earth. It will take the United States government 3 hours and 40 minutes to spend a billion dollars. A trillion is 999.9 billion. It is almost impossible to conceive. If you had gone into business on the day Jesus was born, and your business lost a million dollars a day, day in and day out, 365 days a year, it would have taken you until October 2737 to lose a trillion dollars. A trillion is a million million.

Unconverted Christians is attachedJust this past weekend I took part in a prayer and fasting vigil with some strong Christian men and this topic seemed to somehow ooze to the surface. With all of the anti-Christian bigotry emanating from the culture today it does not seem too far off in the future where great persecution may come to the American-Christian. The criminalization of Christian thought, speech, and action does not seem to be too far out on the horizon and the men at the gathering began to discuss whether or not we would be up to the task. In more specific terms the question was, what would you die for?...( categories: Commentary )
“Jesus Wouldn’t Yell”
Later that day I was at football practice and during a water break I was looking at the rocky hills surrounding our practice field and I suddenly thought of the Sermon on the Mount. Thousands came to hear our Lord as he sat at the top of a hill high over the city. Hmmm, I thought. Top of the hill, thousands of people, no public address system, I wonder how the multitudes heard Him?...

Obama’s Garden Party
I went to a garden party to reminisce with my old friends
A chance to share old memories and play our songs again. When I got to the garden party, they all knew my name No one recognized me, I didn't look the same. ( categories: Commentary )
